The Ledger: Bitcasino pays out €1m, Ripple moots ETF and Rivalry launches token

Elsewhere this week, Ripple chief executive Brad Garlinghouse hinted at a potential XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) off the back of Ethereum’s regulatory win with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Garlinghouse said the Ethereum ETF was a “major turning point” for the industry and likened it to “an asteroid hitting Wall Street.” His excitement aside, Ripple has a long way to go before the SEC is likely to agree any similar move for XRP, given it is still scrutinizing the cryptocurrency’s status as an unregistered security.
Meanwhile, Rivalry chief executive Steven Salz is also buzzing over the potential of crypto, having just announced the forthcoming launch of Rivalry Token and other crypto functionality on the betting platform.
Salz has been teasing the move into crypto since April. This week, he said: “Online gambling is the latest web-based consumer category being increasingly disrupted by blockchain technologies with greater speed, access, and functionality than their legacy counterparts.”
The casino and sportsbook’s first quarter results were also out this week, revealing that gross gaming revenue was up by 20% to $7.7m, while net income rose by 51% from $3m to $4.5m.
Multiplayer crypto casino MyPrize saw it’s official launch this week, with the crypto platform going live in select international markets, in tandem with a social gaming platform for US users, MyPrize US.
More than 150,000 users signed up for MyPrize and MyPrize US during the early access period in anticipation of the platforms’ launch.
Finally, Polymarket bettors were proved right about the outcome of Donald Trump’s hush money trial. They predicted a 76% chance of him being found guilty, having staked roughly $115,000.
